Breaking Down Plastic(s) Campaign
A creative campaign educating the public about the various plastic types they encounter every day while engaging them in today’s social content barrage.
"The collaboration with Platinum Seed was instrumental in the success of our key cross-channel initiatives. Their design conceptualisation and execution transformed our vision into high-impact deliverables. Platinum Seed's deep expertise across web development, strategy, content creation, and paid media execution was consistently impressive. This multi-faceted approach delivered outstanding results, most notably an industry-leading 90% video completion rate - almost unheard of. More than an agency, Platinum Seed proved to be an essential growth partner. Their strategic thinking and execution directly drove our success. I recommend them without reservation for brands seeking transformative marketing outcomes."Kyle DewarHead of Marketing
The Brief
Polyco is a registered NPO producer responsibility organisation (PRO) focused on growing the plastic recycling industry in South Africa. They partner with organisations to help get the message out there, organisations like Platinum Seed.
Our partnership with Polyco has spanned many years and many projects - including a new website, a custom member’s portal, sub-brand campaign work and so much more - so when they needed to get the word out about the main types of plastics we all encounter, they came to us to make sure their message was loud and clear.
There are 7 main types of plastics and it’s very important to know the differences in order to properly manage them (reduce, reuse or recycle), and Polyco needed everyone to know the differences. They asked us to find a way to teach the world about these plastics that would stick.
From the strategic consideration to create a video series of content to convey the message as well as the conceptualising of the idea and its execution, to the scriptwriting, direction and the paid media rollout plan creation and management, we are very proud of this successful campaign to shed light on the 7 types of plastics we all encounter every day of our lives.
We created eight entertaining videos with two endearing characters who went about detailing in a lighthearted manner how all humans can approach their plastic usage. We called it ‘Breaking Down Plastic(s) with Ben and Annabé’ and the views on the YouTube videos alone tell us that in just one month, we landed our message with our audience(s).
